Announcing the Release of “The Shadow Stalker”

I’m excited to announce the release of my first work as an independent author, The Shadow Stalker.

It’s a horror short story I decided to publish on Kindle.

Honestly, I’ve been curious about publishing on Kindle for a while now. It seemed easy enough. I know plenty of people who have done it and they all kept encouraging me to give it a go.

But…

Well, I’m always loaded with those.

One thing that really stopped me was the covers. I didn’t know a thing about creating them.

I can concoct basic graphics for my blog but book covers are different. They’re the face of your work and should express it’s soul.

However, once I discovered the world of cover artists, my hesitation melted and my excitement took over. There was the answer to that problem. Now all I had to do was proof and edit my work, get it formatted and voila! I could upload it.

So I decided to take a story I’m fond of and that once upon a time placed 3rd in a contest and use it as my guinea pig.

And here I am, writing about my first Kindle release.

Well, the first book I’ve released on Kindle. Other books, such as compilations like  A Woman’s Touch: 11 Stories of Murder and Misdemeanors and Chicken Soup for the Soul: Home Sweet Home: 101 Stories about Hearth, Happiness, and Hard Work, that my stories are included in are on Kindle.

Beneath The Morvan Moon is also on there. That’s my first novel.

But I didn’t publish those. Someone else took care of that for me.

I did this one. I’m planning on writing later about why I decided to try this route. Depending on what happens, more posts could follow. (Either why I love being an independent author or why it didn’t work for me. Time will tell…)

ABOUT “THE SHADOW STALKER”

A shadow stalker terrorized Lizzie when she was fifteen years old. No one believed her then. Not her parents. Not her therapist, who theorized what she was experiencing was sleep paralysis, where victims are semi-awake but still dreaming, often of a menacing figure.

But Lizzie knew better. She wasn’t always asleep when the shadow man came.

It’s been over a decade since that horrific time in her life. She’s married with her first child on the way.

Which is why the shadow stalker has returned. It wants her baby.

Lizzie needs to make her husband, Jacob, realize that…before it’s too late.
