Local Author Book Fair Appearance

This Sunday August 23, 2015 I will be participating in the Local Author Book Fair at the Brentwood Public Library in Brentwood, Tennessee.

26 authors total are set to participate, including:

  • Bill Peach
  • Nanette Avery
  • Rick Reichman*
  • Shannon L. Brown
  • Keely Brooke Keith
  • Paula Palermo
  • Tom Wood
  • Iscah*
  • Carroll Silvera*
  • Kathy Rhodes
  • Rena Johnson
  • D. G. Driver
  • Patty Keith
  • Louise Draper Collin
  • Dr. Veera S. Rajaratnam
  • Parnell Donahue, MD
  • Catherine Moore*
  • Courtney Lynn Mroch
  • David M. Harris
  • Eva Melusine Thieme*
  • Kimberly Dana*
  • Nicole Jarrell
  • Leo Kennedy
  • Christine Copenhaver*
  • Alana Raybon

A few of the authors were also selected to speak. (I put “*” by their names.)

I was sort of bummed I was not one of them, BUT…we just got back from vacation and to be honest the jet lag is hitting me hard this time. (When we went to Istanbul five years ago…YOWSER! It took me three weeks to get back to normal. However, last November we went overseas but I barely had jet lag coming back. I feared I would, but when I didn’t I thought I’d figured out how to lick it. Not!)

Anyway, I would’ve had just this week to prepare something to say. On top of trying to recoup from our trip, catch up on everything, etc. That would’ve caused me too much stress.

So, blessing in disguise not to get selected as speaker!

I am excited to go sit with my books. If anyone buys a couple, it’ll be a bonus. The best thing is the last time I did something like this my book (Beneath the Morvan Moon ) was priced so sky high ($27.95! For a paperback!) I couldn’t sell a single copy. The looks people gave me…it still makes me simultaneously shudder and cringe thinking about it. (Curse that PublishAmerica!)

Anyway, I can offer both The Ghost of Laurie Floyd and Chicken Soup for the Soul: Home Sweet Home: 101 Stories about Hearth, Happiness, and Hard Work for $10 each and still make a little profit. (Thanks to my author discount.)

Oh, the joys of being an Independent Author!

Anyway, it’ll be fun. A chance to meet some new authors and perhaps some new readers!

  1. As I said before, thank you for putting this post together, I shall shamelessly steal it and use for myself as I hadn’t had time to do anything about this either! Goo thing you reminded me to prepare something to talk about, yikes!

HA! Luckily you already basically had something prepared. WOOT! You did great and it was GREAT fun sharing a table with you!
