Listen to “The Gypsy’s Curse” Excerpt on HorrorAddicts.net

Back in March I wrote about my then upcoming appearances in 2018 and where to hear me. One of them included HorrorAddicts.net.

HorrorAddicts.net is for horror addicts, by horror addicts. In addition to publishing anthologies and a blog, they also produce a podcast that releases new episodes every two weeks from mid-April through October.

Each season they have a theme. 2018’s is “Cursed!”

Each episode has a sub-theme, in addition to featuring an author, band, movie and food.

I was the author for their June 23, 2018 episode!

Sadly, we left on our big trip June 25, 2018. I knew that my episode would air on June 23rd, and I knew we’d be gone and I wouldn’t be able to promote it until I got back.

I could’ve at least written a post. In fact, I’d meant to write ahead and schedule it to post so that it’d get done before we left.

But I’m super good at procrastination –and overestimating my ability to quickly whip out a post at the last minute. (Meaning the week before we left. Which is always a nutso week trying to get everything done. I know I should do as much as I can before that, but…we’re back to my procrastination problem. See the vicious circle I create for myself?)

Anyway, we’re back now. It’s a little after the fact, but there’s still time for me to promote my HorrorAddicts, net episode, because it’s still up and accessible and will be for a while! (Luckily and phew!)

And it’s a little misleading to say you’ll hear me. You’ll actually get to hear an excerpt of my story “The Gypsy’s Curse” that appears in Shadow People and Cursed Objects: 13 Tales of Terror Based on True Stories…or are they?.

They did a great job acting it out!

That’s also why I waited to write. I wanted to hear it first and didn’t have a chance before we left. But I have now and OMG! #Chills.

Although, I guess you do get to hear me too. Briefly. Near the beginning of the podcast I did a sound bite. Just super short. That was fun too.

Anyway, go listen. My excerpt isn’t read until the end of the show (about the 40 minute mark.)

But leading up to that they talk about all other kinds of things too, including the sub-cursed theme, which was “objects” for this episode.

Here’s what else made up this episode:

  • The band was Protea. (Speaking of music, I LOVE the intro music by Valentine Wolf.)
  • The “movie” was Friday the 13th TV Season 3.
  • The food was Genie in a Bottle. (Say what? You have to check that out!)
