What if we had a better president, one who was actually capable of understanding science, and we never needed to lockdown to begin with?
Not that he wanted to. If it was up to him no states would’ve locked down. He doesn’t want testing. He doesn’t want to wear a mask. His only concern is getting the economy going again and getting the country back to the way it was.
Fine. We all want that, but short of a vaccine or some exceptional treatment options, that’s not happening anytime soon.
In the meantime, ignoring coronavirus and acting like that will make it go away –or, worse, that it will magically vanish on its own– is wasting valuable time and lives.
Tunnel-vision like that is why he and his supporters are making this whole situation worse.
Now they’re saying, “If it’s between sacrificing some of the population and the economy, we’re okay letting people die.”
Like Sammy Hagar, who is now regretting making such a dumb-ass statement.
It's this very attitude that is stalling the economy. If people don't feel safe, an open economy is irrelevant!

These people are morally and ethically bankrupt. They’re also narrow-minded fools who should not be leading our country at all.
No. Just no.
Money vs. life should never be an option. If it is, it should be the very last resort possible because there are absolutely, positively no other ways.
In our case, there is another way.
Wearing a fucking mask.
But no. These same asshats bitch that’s against their Constitutional rights, yet most of these motherfuckers have never even read the Constitution.
However, in their defense, at the beginning of all this, there were reports masks that were not N95s didn’t do much. They might help minimize some of the spread, but they wouldn’t protect people from getting the virus.
Now since more time has gone by, there’s evidence masks of any kind not only help minimize the spread, but also offer a bit of protection to the wearer.
What if we’d been able to keep the spread to about what it was when lockdowns eased just by wearing masks and we’d never had to lockdown at all?
What if most businesses had been able to stay open, maybe with just some occupancy and social distancing measurements in place?
What if…
No sense ruminating on the what ifs. The point is, it’s not that hard to wear a mask.
And if it’s between locking down again or death? Well, seems to me the choice is not only an easy one, but pretty fucking obvious.
