Boob Saga and Horror Addicts Guide to Life Updates

After a stressful start to the week, I’ve got a couple of exciting things to share to end the week with. Let’s start with the good news on the boob saga front first and then share the cover reveal for the anthology I have three stories in.

Boob Saga All-Clear

When I first got the call about my Feb. 16 mammogram, I flew into panic mode —even before I had talked to them and got word I needed to come back in for a diagnostic mammo and ultrasound. (Since I didn’t recognize the number I let the call go to voicemail. But the fact they were calling wasn’t good. A callback never is. Unless you’re an actor.)

Then I was going to have to wait three weeks to get in at the place I went for my screening mammo. Nope. That wasn’t going to work. So the next day I called back to see if they could get me in elsewhere. They were able to see me that afternoon.

And then while I was there they thankfully read the results right away to spare me from any other waiting. No evidence of cancer.

Also no evidence of my cyst, which surprised me. But they did show me the changes in my breast that prompted the extra examination. Even to my untrained eye it was obvious so in the end I’m glad for where we are today with women’s health.

But I’m even more glad I got the all-clear as well as the thumbs up to continue with annual screening mammos. I was afraid I’d have to go back on the six-month diagnostic cycle.

(Even though I’m glad we have better healthcare now, that doesn’t mean I like participating in it anymore than necessary.)

Horror Addicts Guide to Life 2 Cover Reveal

The acceptance to Horror Addicts Guide to Life 2 was exciting enough, but then came the cover reveal. There’s just something about seeing a book’s “face” that makes it more real.

I’m honored and excited to be among the authors with work appearing in this anthology. In fact, I wasn’t 100% sure at first but I am now. I don’t have just one but three stories in it! They are:

  1. “7 Chilling Museums”
  2. “Haunted by the Voodoo Queen, Marie Laveau”
  3. “Voodoo and My First Horse-Drawn Carriage Ghost Tour”

Horror Addicts Guide to Life 2 is coming sometime during summer 2022. To see the other authors who contributed to this anthology, visit horroraddicts.wordpress.com/book-14-horror-addicts-guide-2.
